Con el propósito de evaluar el potencial de tecnologías y prácticas agrícolas climáticamente inteligentes para fomentar la eficiencia del uso de recursos productivos en fincas ganaderas, se realizó de forma interactiva una evaluación de la rentabilidad de las TCIs en una finca ubicada en el distrito Cureña del cantón Sarapiquí, Costa Rica. Para realizar el estudio se aplicó una entrevista estructurada a tres fincas modelos de la zona y se seleccionaron tres TCIs de importancia para los productores, de las cuales, el pasto mejorado se seleccionó como la de mayor funcionalidad para implementar en el sistema productivo. El análisis de los datos se realizó en Microsoft Excel y con ello se elaboró un plan de financiamiento, cuyo objetivo clave es fomentar el autofinanciamiento para la implementación de pasto mejorado, sin necesidad de requerir financiamiento externo, lo cual no solo es difícil de conseguir, sino que tampoco es una opción viable para los productores por los altos riesgos que conlleva realizar un préstamo. Aquí, la metodología permitió interactuar la disponibilidad de los recursos económicos, humanos y de tierra con las restricciones que cuenta el productor para el reemplazo de pasto natural por pasto mejorado en toda la finca. Se encontró que, al reemplazar 25 ha de pasto natural por pasto mejorado en un lapso de 12 años, la producción de leche podría llegar a aumentar hasta en 3 L/vaca/día, con lo cual se aumentaría el rendimiento de queso de 4,7 kg/día a 8,9 kg/día. Con este aumento de productividad, después de 12 años, los ingresos netos adicionales incrementarían a 1.356.931 CRC. Al considerar la información bibliográfica y los resultados, se concluye que con el desarrollo de la TCIs se logran cambios en la producción convencional de la finca, lo que a su vez genera impactos positivos, que compensan al productor por el tiempo y dinero invertido con este cambio tecnológico y climáticamente inteligente.

For the purpose of evaluating the potential of technologies and practices agricultural climate-smart to promote the efficiency of the use of productive resources in livestock farms, was carried out in an interactive way an evaluation of the profitability of the TCIs in a farm located in the Cureña district, of Sarapiquí canton, Costa Rica. To carry out the study, a structured interview was applied to three model farms in the area and three TCIs of importance were selected for the producers, of which, the improved pasture was selected as the one with greater functionality to implement in the system productive. Data analysis was carried out in Microsoft Excel and a financing plan was developed, whose key objective is to promote self-financing for the implementation of improved pasture, without requiring external financing, which is not only difficult to achieve, but it neither is a viable option for producers because of the high risks involved in making a loan. Here, the methodology allowed interacting the availability of the economic, human and of land resources with the restrictions that the producer has for the replacement of natural pasture by improved pasture throughout the farm. It was found that by replacing 25 ha of natural pasture with improved pasture in a period of 12 years, milk production could increase by up to 3 L/cow/day, which would increase the cheese yield from 4,7 kg/day to 8,9 kg/day. With this increase in productivity, after 12 years, additional net revenues would increase to 1.356.931 CRC. When considering bibliographic information and results, it is concluded that with the development of the TCIs, changes in the conventional production of the farm are achieved, which in turn generates positive impacts, which compensate the producer for the time and money invested with This technological and climate-smart change.
