The original project was to train EARTH students and interested people from the neighboring community in the cultivation, utilization, use, and commercialization of medicinal plants; conserve the germplasm of medicinal plants, especially native species; collect traditional knowledge related to medicinal plants for further dissemination, and distribute germplasm to interested people. The garden was created with seven species of medicinal plants. Recently in 2018, the total recorded species was eighty-three. The purpose of this graduation project is to preserve the information of the medicinal plants available at the Ethnobotanical garden and share this information with the EARTH community and the visitors that come every year. This project's main objective is to facilitate access to this detailed information that would otherwise be hidden in research publications. The data collection was based on a survey made to the EARTH community to evaluate people’s interest in the species in the garden. The information was collected from the EARTH University library books, online research, and studies. Professor Jorge Arce provided a part of the information. Nineteen species of medicinal plants were selected in the ethnobotanical garden form the illustrated guide. These nineteen selected plant species were described in detail. Each plant description includes the scientific name, a photograph taken by the author, the common name in English, the origin, physical description, and selected medicinal uses.
