The community of La Lucha is located in Siquirres county, Limón province in the Atlantic region of Costa Rica. Currently the community has 182 households that are scattered throughout the Sector´s main and secondary roads. Eighty-two households were surveyed with the main objective of determining the socio-economic situation and the ratio of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions with their daily activities. Likewise, the main activities agricultural, of both in crop production (cultivation of bananas, pineapples, ornamental flowers and some tubers) and livestock production (beef and pork) were determined. Considering the IPCC methodology, it is estimated that CO2 emissions of the sample is equivalent to 155.96 Mg per year (approximately 1.90 Mg per households, which would be 346.16 Mg per year in all the community).
