dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar el efecto de diferentes alturas de corta del pseudotallo del banano (Musa AAA), sobre el desarrollo y productividad de la secuencia, en la finca comercial de banano de la Universidad EARTH. Cuatro tratamientos fueron evaluados. El Tratamiento 1 consistió en cosechar el racimo de la planta madre y se cortaron todas las hojas dejando únicamente el pseudotallo entero. Tratamiento 2 se cortó el pseudotallo de la planta madre a 2 m de altura (práctica comercial usada en la finca). Tratamiento 3 se cosechó el racimo de la planta madre y se realizó un corte total del pseudotallo a 0.30 m del suelo. Tratamiento 4 únicamente se cosechó el racimo de la planta madre y se dejó entero el pseudotallo con todas sus hojas. Los resultados indicaron que los mejores tratamientos fueron donde se dejó completamente el pseudotallo con sus hojas y donde se dejó el completamente el pseudotallo sin hojas, mientras que el peor tratamiento se obtuvo cuando se cortó el pseudotallo a 0.30 m del suelo. Asimismo, se registró una correlación positiva con coeficiente de Pearson de 0.66 entre la circunferencia y el número de manos y los mejores tratamientos fueron no corta del pseudotallo dejando sus hojas y dejando completamente el pseudotallo sin hojas, mientras que la peor correlación se dio cuando se realizó la corta a 0.30 m y 2 m de altura respectivamente. Adicionalmente, el número de manos fue superior en los tratamientos donde no se cortó el pseudotallo y el menor número de manos lo registró en la corta del pseudotallo a 0.30 m. Los resultados de la presente investigación indican que dejando el pseudotallo de la planta cosechada con hojas y sin hojas presentaron los mejores resultados para las variables de crecimiento y productividad. Sin embargo, es necesario continuar la investigación por un periodo de al menos tres cosechas consecutivas para tener datos más consistentes.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of different cut of the pseudostem in banana (Musa AAA) on the plant growth and productivity of sucker in the commercial banana plantation at EARTH University. Four treatments were evaluated: Treatment 1 consist in harvesting the bunch and cut all the leaves and leaving the whole pseudostem. Treatment 2 was to cut the pseudostem at 2 m height and removing all the leaves (commercial practices used at the plantation). Treatment 3 was to cut the whole pseudostem at 0.3 m from the soil. Treatment 4 was to harvest the bunch and leaving the whole pseudostem with all the leaves. The results indicated that the best treatments where when the whole pseudostem remain with all the leaves and also when the whole pseudostem remain without leaves, while the worst treatment was when the pseudostem was cut at 0.3 m from the soil. Furthermore, a positive correlation of 0,66 coefficient Pearson between the girth of the pseudostem and number of hands and the best treatments were when the whole pseudostem remain with leaves and without leaves, while the worst correlation was detected when the whole pseudostem was cut at 0.3 m and 2 m from the soil. In addition, the number of hands was superior in the treatments where the whole pseudostem remain with and without leaves and the lower number of hands was registered when the pseudostem was cut at 0.3 m from the soil. The results of the present research indicated that keeping the whole pseudostem with or without leaves obtained the best results for plant growth and productivity. However, it is recommended to continue the research at least for a period of three consecutive harvests for getting more robust results.es_ES
