The buffalo milk production is being an activity that takes importance day by day worldwide, projected as an option to produce foods of high biological value. The dairy buffalo requires 60.08 kg DM/kg BW0.75 for maintenance, the water consumption ranges from 5.2 L/kg to 5.5 L/kg of DM, 255 g to 427 g of CP according to the weight of the buffalo that goes from 350 kg to 700 kg respectively and from 49 g to 68.01 g of DP in relation to the fat in the milk with ranges from 5.0 % to 8.0 %, the energy required for maintenance is 35.34 g TDN/kg BW0.75. Regarding the requirements for milk production, the buffalo requires a dry matter consumption of 524 g/kg of milk corrected to 4 % of fat, the protein requirements are 53 g DP/kg to 70 g DP/kg of milk corrected to 6 % of fat, to supply the energetic needs the buffaloes require between 0,8 Mcal to 0,85 Mcal of NEL for each liter of milk for productions greater than 8 kg of milk and for productions smaller than 8 kg it is required of 0,76 Mcal to 0, 80 Mcal of NEL per liter of milk. It was possible to obtain values that could be used as references to carry out the milk buffalo diets and thus increase the productions and improve the profitability of said activity.
