Extensive conventional livestock farming is one of the reasons for the degradation of ecosystems, due to the search for higher productivity, the deforestation of forests and the excessive use of agrochemicals that have been resorted to. As a result of this problem, different strategies have been sought with which to improve the current situation and achieve a balance between production and the environment. Silvopastoral systems help in this problem. In addition, when implementing these systems, great benefits are obtained, including favoring the edaphic population of the soil, specifically the dung beetles; these are an indicator of the health of the soil and on which it depends to give efficiency to the system. However, there are factors that negatively affect the dung beetles, such as exposure to solar radiation and the use of chemicals. In the present study, different evaluation systems were analyzed, such as a pasture with trees and without use of Ivermectins, a pasture without trees and with use of Ivermectins, a pasture with few trees and use of Ivermectins, and a forest. A total of eight species were found, being the forest the richest one, followed by a pasture with trees and without the use of Ivermectins. The species most abundant and widely distributed species was Onthophagus batesi. The results of the ecological function indicated that the highest beetle activity was evidenced in paddocks with trees and without the use of Ivermectins. There were a large number of beetles, in addition to tunnels, while paddocks without trees and with the use of Ivermectins showed the worst results. It could be observed from the population sampling that there were no large number of beetles and the beetle activity was almost zero. Although very good results were obtained in terms of the evaluated variables in the paddock with trees and without use of Ivermectins, it is concluded that the UAPA paddocks need a better management in order to obtain the full benefits of dung beetles.
