The use of products with less environmental impact has been a trend in recent years; with the notable increase in the human population, agriculture has faced a need to implement new technologies to meet food requirements in the world, and the use of organic botanical products or the reduction of other pesticides has also been subject to of study and discussion due to aspects of efficiency and profitability. Recently, there have been different research programs to determine the efficiency of plant extracts to control important pests in crops, in these studies different botanical products extracted from different plants were evaluated and applied in more than one dose; The ultimate purpose of this research is not only to determine the efficiency for the control of this pest, but also to establish a final dose of application. Therefore, a study was conducted to evaluate two repellent formulations based on botanical oils, these products were prepared by the company Griffith Foods in partnership with Agrocym which aimed at controlling several pests in different crops. However, this study is purposed to evaluate the impact to control thrips (Chaetanaphothrips sp.) in the plantation of organic plantain. Four applications of both formulations were made, in two different doses, (1 L/ha and 3 L/ha). At the end of the applications, it was determined that the T1 formulation at the dose of 3 L/ha obtained the best repellent effect on the pest.
