El cantón Nangaritza ha sido por historia un sector minero, sin embargo desde la llegada de sus primeros pobladores Colonizadores hace ya más de 50 años la producción agrícola pecuaria ha estado orientado a la producción bovina y porcina siendo una de las principales actividades generadoras de ingresos para las familias, por esta razón este proyecto hace hincapié en la producción porcina por medio de un diagnóstico de todo los componentes de la cadena de valor, determinando así las falencias existentes en el proceso actual, así como también las oportunidades que puedan existir para mejorar el sistema de comercialización, lo cual dará como resultado mejores ingresos a los productores, potencializando y dinamizando de la economía local mediante la implementación de un camal frigorífico, situándose en su cabecera cantonal Guayzimi. Como parte del estudio se realizó una serie de encuestas en las tres parroquias que componen el cantón, mediante un muestreo estratificado; con los resultados de la encuesta se llega a establecer la importancia y el impacto de la producción porcina en los ingresos de las familias Nangaritcences, así como las múltiples necesidades y expectativas de los pobladores a futuro. Dado que una de las mayores necesidades es el faenamiento y la comercialización de los pequeños productores, la propuesta de este proyecto se enfoca en una mejora de las prácticas de proceso y comercialización a través el establecimiento de un sistema de industrialización que regule el sistema de mercadeo y precios. Este ente se compone de la participación del gobierno local y privado al cual se denominará CAFRINA (Camal Frigorífico de Nangaritza), su misión será desarrollar un sistema participativo mayoritariamente de pequeños productores para tener acceso a mercados directos, tanto del cantón como a futuro fuera del mismo.

This entity is made up of the participation of the local and private government, which will be called CAFRINA (Camal Frigorífico de Nangaritza). Its mission will be to develop a participatory system mainly of small producers to have access to direct markets, both in the canton and in the future outside of it.
