Ítem Restringido Designing an integrated agri-ecotourism training center for rural communities in Ghana and Ethiopia.(Universidad EARTH, 2021-12) Anita, Kotochi Anatu Borewah; Adonias, Tafa Degefa; Pacheco Bustos, Alex Gustavo; McLeod, Kent D.The combination of agricultural components with tourism has many benefits for rural communities. It helps to increase biodiversity on a farm setup, and it allows consumers to engage in activities, events, and services that have been provided for recreational, entertainment, or educational purposes on the farm or agribusiness operation. In this way, both farmers and visitors are able to experience, learn and participate in various activities of agriculture, natural resource conservation, and the promotion of biodiversity and cultural heritage of a community. In addition, the economic, social, and cultural benefits that agri-ecotourism provides for consumers and rural communities offer enlightenment for consumers or future farmers with more options and a broader view of farming, which in turn promotes farming diversification and rural development (Dooley, 2010). Farmers who are considering adding integrated agri-ecotourism to their farming operations can expect several advantages as integrated agri-ecotourism will diversify their current operations, thereby spreading risk over a larger number of enterprises. This could help improve the survival rate of operations during hardship, such as a drought (Lombard, 2020). The purpose of this investigation of integrated agri-ecotourism was to develop a structural model design that helps to promote biodiversification that considers economic factors, the community and the people living in it. The development of agri-ecotourism as a business, however, depends on the level of its management and the evaluation of the impact of various management decisions on economic, environmental, and social sustainability in the rural communities of Ghana and Ethiopia.
