The agricultural sector is the socioeconomic system that most contributes to climate change and the most vulnerable to it. Within it, livestock production and its poor management is the activity that most impacts climate change. Therefore, it is sought to implement more sustainable practices in this sector. The objective of this project was to design a system of integral management of solid and liquid waste, for a pig production farm in a dry area of Ecuador. Through this project not only is the management is provided but also the use of waste through its integration in the same farm is proposed, with an opportunity for the growth of the farm to be an agricultural system with a sustainable approach. A composting process and an outdoor composter were designed, as well as a management and use system for the affected waste of 40 500 kg/week in the pig sty; and a fertigation sprinkler system for 4 ha with a frequency of irrigation by land of four days, as a management and use system of 51 m3/day of wastewater from pig drinkers. An agrosilvopastoral system is proposed to be established at 4 ha, with an animal load of 15 animals per hectare and composed of the improved pasture Brachiaria brizantha cultivate BRS Piatá, the guácimo tree (Guazuma ulmifolia), the graniferous sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) and a protein bank. This cultivation system is proposed for the use of the designed systems, where the application of composting is integrated as an organic fertilizer helping the recovery of soil and plant nutrition, and the application of fertigation as a water supply (which is scarce) and fertilizer for plants. In addition, it provides various environmental services. In this way, a series of sustainable practices proposed, together represent a productive system that is resilient to climate change and provides environmental management for the farm, promoting the increase in biodiversity, improving soil quality and generating a better environmental impact.
